Gary Ross and Lawrence Kursar are being joined by Michael Toth to form their new group, Crosswinds Trio Mr. Toth began his concert career at age 14 with a solo performance at Carnegie Recital Hall. Currently resident pianist with the Allentown Symphony Orchestra, Mr. Toth brings his highly musical and virtuosic skills to the ensemble.
The establishment of the high brass trio (trumpet, horn, and piano) as a new chamber music ensemble has been the mission of Lawrence Kursar and Gary Ross. Founders of Band du Soleil, they have written over two hundred arrangements during the past four years. They have performed these arrangements all over North America and Europe. The distinctive sound has brought rave reviews and standing ovations and has also inspired several composers to write for this new and unique ensemble.
The "Blessed Jazz" program will include diverse music selections of spirituals, hymns, and sacred music performed in a unique style that is Crosswinds Trio.
"Their musical arrangements, from classical to jazz, are as amazing as the
full sound they produce. I was on the verge of tears one moment and
wanting to dance in the aisle the next. The musicians are both entirely
professional and delightfully personable. They are audience friendly, talented,
and engaging."
